STUDIO - Lost Tile

A lovely couple came into my studio and bought one of my tiles... and then promptly lost it! Wonder where this charming little face ended up! 😂

AA2A - Artist Residency at Sunderland University

I feel very privileged to have been selected for an aa2a artist residency with the University of Sunderland. This will be at their National Glass Center campus and runs from now until May 2023. This is an amazing opportunity and the facilities and equipment that they have available are fantastic. I’m really looking forward to meeting all the students and faculty. I’ll be keeping a blog of my work and experience on the aa2a website… https://aa2a.biz

EXHIBITION - The Dragon is Finished!!!

Well that felt epic! We made it... we got to the end of the dragons tail on the last day of the exhibition! We had well over a thousand visitor contributions to the dragon alone as each scale was decorated by a visitor to the exhibition, (we'll make a tally of the total scales created in the next couple of weeks). The exhibition will be much missed, thanks to everyone who has contributed in some way 💓

GOVESHY BUSTS in York Art Gallery's new display

It was great to make it through to York Art Gallery for their Day of Clay event. What a great day! I was thrilled to see also that my GOVE BUSTS have been included in the display, celebrating women artists within their collections.💓🙏

EXHIBITION - Creatures of Curiosity, Exhibition Images

Here's a few exhibition images of other works that are on display in the Creatures of Curiosity exhibition, the Kirkdale Cave room features some amazing work by Tim Hopgood, a children's author and illustrator, he illustrated creatures, such as hyenas, lions and long tusked elephants, once native to the region.

There is also a case with sensory textile creations created by Tim's wife Wanda Szajna-Hopgood based on Tim's illustrations

In the room with my dragon is a wall of dragon eyes created by children in workshops run by myself and Rosie (i will be rotating having different eyes on my dragon that the children created during the exhibition run)...

Some fabulous creatures have been created by schoolchildren in felt, these were created in workshops run by the very talented textile artist Serena Partridge...

There is also a wall for visitors to include their own creatures of Curiosity!

...and a wall of Hobs, as well as a hob trail within the spectacular garden of Nunnington Hall

And a reading space at the end of the exhibition with lots more of the children's artwork on display 💓

The dragon will be a participatory artwork and visitors to the Creatures of Curiosity exhibition will be invited to decorate a dragon scale which will be added to the dragon during the course of the exhibition.

STUDIO - West Pier Studios, Short Film

My chums on West Pier have put together a little film of their studios, I wasn't around when they filmed unfortunately, it will be such a loss if they forge ahead with current plans to turn the buildings into a restaurant
